Music: Erik Santos Sings The Greatest Theme Songs

Prince of Pop Erik Santos stands out among his contemporaries because of his ability to convey a whole array of emotions through his songs, making him the most sought-after interpreter of theme songs.

He has breathed life to around 30 movie and TV themes– May Bukas Pa, Now That I Have You, Miss You Like Crazy, If You Asked Me To, Lupa, It Might Be You, Maging Sino Ka Man, Say You’ll Never Go, I’ll Never Go, among others. This is a feat achieved only by the Prince of Pop, who seems to be John Lloyd Cruz’s lucky charm because most of his hit movies had Erik as the singer of the theme. And with such achievements he has become the most requested interpreter of Teleserye and movie theme songs.

Erik, aside from being a prolific singer, is also an accomplished concert performer with numerous hit concerts to his name. He had sold-out concerts at the Music Museum, Meralco Theater, Aliw Theater, and Araneta Coliseum.

Operation Smile unveils 30th anniversary plans for “The Journey Home”

10 international missions. 9 sites. 3weeks. 30 countries. 1,000 volunteers.
This is Operation Smile’s upcoming 30th anniversary by the numbers.
click photo for hi-res
Operation Smile, an international children’s medical charity that traces its roots to the Philippines, is set to conduct 10 missions in 9 different sites across the country for 3 weeks participated in by a thousand volunteers from 30 countries for its homecoming dubbed as “The Journey Home.”

Three decades after American couple Bill and Kathy Magee first set foot in the country, Operation Smile is coming back to the Philippines, the birthplace of the worldwide children’s medical charity that provides surgery and related health care to indigent children and young adults afflicted with cleft lip, cleft palate and other childhood facial deformities. It all began when the husband and wife team visited the country for a one-time medical mission in Naga City. Around 300 families, hoping to avail of free surgery for their children, trooped to the medical mission site. The Magees and their team however were only able to accommodate 40 children that day. One of the women whose child wasn't accommodated came to the Magees with a bunch of bananas, insistently telling the Magees it was a gift of gratitude for helping all the other children. That powerful memory tugged at the couple's hearts, inspiring them to mobilize support for another medical mission the next year. And the rest, as they say, is history.

According to GMA Network Chairman & CEO, Atty Felipe L Gozon, helping the government mount such events abroad is part of GMA’s “serbisyong totoo” to the Filipino nation. “We must do our share in boosting our image in the global arena. The least we can do is lend our talents to the Expo in Korea.”

During the press conference of her new talk show on GMA News TV “MARS,” morning show host and celebrity mom Suzi Entrata Abrera revealed to the members of the press her formula for attaining a good balance between work and family life.

As a regular co-host of GMA’s weekday morning show Unang Hirit, Suzi needs to wake up as early as 3:00am from Monday to Friday.  But despite her “unusual” schedule, she still puts her family as her top priority.

Maaga din naman natatapos ang taping namin and so when I get home I still catch [my children] before they go to sleep.
