"It's more fun in the Philippines."
That's the new slogan that will brand the new Philippine tourism campaign to be rolled out in international markets starting April this year.

Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr., in an exclusive briefing for InterAksyon.com prior to today's public launch of the campaign, said the slogan created by advertising firm BBDO Guerrero | Proximity Philippines, answers the fundamental question, "Why the Philippines?"
"What differentiates the Philippines from every [other place] in the world, as we said from the start, is the Filipino. [It's] his special gift for transforming what is already a beautiful place into an unforgettable special place," Jimenez said. "You take two identical islands, put Filipinos in one, it’s going to be more fun there."

Also launched on Friday was a new logo, which is a "banig weave that forms the map of the Philippines. It's very colorful, very graphic, sa biglang tingin [at first glance], it's a pixelized version of the map. It has that very modern feel also," Jimenez said. President Benigno S. Aquino III, he noted, also gave his inputs on the colors.

WFP supports the Government of the Philippines Response to Sendong-affected communities



Tropical Storm Washi (locally known as “Sendong”) which hit Northern Mindanao over the weekend, caused massive flooding, flashfloods and landslides, resulting in the death of over 1,000 people. Some 285,000 people have been displaced, many of whom are taking refuge with relatives or in makeshift structures.

Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and the Philippine Government are extending the emergency response to Tropical Storm Washi to focus on remote, cut-off areas around Iligan City

Working closely with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and with airlift support from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, WFP has already supplied emergency food assistance to almost 3,300 people stranded in Mungulong, outside Iligan City. 

Plans are now underway to airlift food rations to other isolated communities around Iligan City such as Panoroganan where almost a thousand people are in need, and Mainit, where another 1,350 people require assistance.WFP continues to support the Philippine government’s relief efforts, and we are grateful to the Armed Forces of the Philippines for providing the necessary logistical support that enables us to reach people in these remote areas,” said WFP Country Director and Representative Stephen Anderson. “These are vital supplies which will help them get through this difficult time.” 

GMA Network Delivers Breakthrough Ratings Performance In 2011

In the year ended, GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) altered television channel ranking as it overtook ABS-CBN in nationwide total day household audience share, placing the latter only to second rank - according to broadcast industry's more trusted ratings service provider, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

Based on full 2011 nationwide data of Nielsen (December 25 to 31 based on overnight ratings), GMA posted a 34.2 percent total day average television household audience share, outscoring ABS-CBN's 31.1 percent and TV5's 15.6 percent by substantial gaps.

GMA noticeably increased its total day household audience share record in 2011 versus 2010 by 3.2 points. In contrast, ABS-CBN's record suffered a significant drop of 8.6 points during the same period.

In effect, GMA gained almost 1.5 million viewers from all over the country in 2011 relative to 2010, while ABS-CBN lost more than 500,000 viewers across all dayparts, using the assumption that there are five viewers per household.

Araw-araw natin siyang napapanuod sa longest-running television na Eat Bulaga. Pagdating sa pagpapatawa at hosting, pasok ang style niya sa masa kaya naman labinlimang taon na siyang Dabarkads.

Ngayong Sabado sa Follow That Star, kilalanin si Ruby Rodriquez sa harap at likod ng camera. Bubuksan ni Ruby ang kanyang cute na retro house, kolektor kasi siya ng mga antique na gamit. Sa bahay, hilig din ni Ruby ang pagtatanim ng mga halaman. Ito raw ang paraan niya para magrelax. Kapag wala namang taping, sinisigurado niya na may bonding siya at ng kanyang asawa kasama ng tatlo niyang anak.

GMCI Responds to Sendong victims through WELL Project

 The WELL (WAter, Energy, Light for Life) Project is an effort of GeiserMaclang Marketing Communications Inc. to provide disaster relief to operations in the Philippines. The effort is kicking off by raising funds to purchase potable water and energy sources for the victims of Typhoon Sendong in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City. Clean water is the basic that sustains life  and rechargeable solar packs, it not only provides light at night but also allows charging small digital devices with solar power.
